
Eduardo Engel is a full professor at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile.
He has published extensively in the areas of macroeconomics, public finance, infrastructure economics and public finance. He received the Frisch Medal of the Econometric Society, together with Ricardo Caballero, in 2002.
He is co-author of the book “The Economics of Public-Private Partnerships: A Basic Guide” (Cambridge University Press, 2014), translated into Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. In 2015, he chaired the Presidential Advisory Council Against Conflicts of Interest, Influence Trafficking and Corruption. He chaired the Latin American Association of Economists (LACEA) in 2014-2015 and is a member of the board of the Econometric Society, in addition to chairing its Latin American chapter.
Professor Engel teaches courses in Statistical Theory (undergraduate compulsory), Economics of Infrastructure Concessions (graduate and undergraduate elective) and Macroeconomics I and II (Master and PhD in Economics).
